HISTORY
Marshfield youth football was started in 1991 - The first two teams were the Gungor Production Inc Wolverines and the Rainbow Foods Vipers. These were the only two teams and played in what was called the Marshfield Area Pop Warner Football Conference.
- The team became the Marshfield Pop Warner Football Tigers and played in an area wide league with the addition of Colby, Stratford & Pittsville.
- The league evolved into Central Wisconsin Pop Warner Football, Inc. For the years 1993, 1994 and 1995, things within the league remained pretty constant with the only change being the Colby program becoming the Cuda Pop Warner Football program.
- The league underwent another change with the addition of the Wisconsin Rapids Pop Warner Football program
- Loyal and Medford joined the league
- Necedah, Neillsville, and Nekoosa-Port Edwards joined the league.
- The Plainfield/Tri-County program was added to the league. The league at this time included 11 different communities.
- The Plainfield/Tri-County program changed it's name to the Mid-State Pop Warner Football Program
- The Mid-State Pop Warner Football program dropped out of the Central Wisconsin Pop Warner (CWPW) Football Inc, thus reducing the league to 10 teams
- Spencer Pop Warner joined CWPW, bringing the league to 11 teams again. The administration of the Marshfield Area Pop Warner began to move the program in a different direction, and began development of a new league with Stevens Point and Wisconsin Rapids. The Valley Youth Football League (VYFL) was developed and in the fall of 2002, (4) teams played in the league. Marshfield also fielded (2) Junior PeeWee teams with the CWPW league. The unique aspect of the new youth football concept was that the youth of the Marshfield area, no matter size, now had an opportunity to play youth football.
- Marshfield Area Youth Football became incorporated and the final steps were put in place to complete it's break from CWPW.
- The Valley Youth Football League expanded to include the communities of Pittsville, Necedah, Medford and Stratford
- A record year for registration. MAYF continues it's participation in the VYFL.
- OLP started their own teams, but it's another record year for registration. MAYF changes from pre-season games to an inter-squad scrimmage held at Beell Stadium. No changes to the VYFL.
- Auburndale started their own program. They will be adding 4 teams and will be part of the VYFL. MAYF has added a game (6 total) to match what the other communities play.
- MAYF
